How to have a healthy ThanksgivingOn this blog, I often discuss ways to live a healthier life. Whether it’s adding yoga to your daily routine, integrating herbs that will make you feel younger into your diet, or how shilajit can be a great way to add vitamins and minerals into your diet, we love to discuss healthy living. All this talk about healthy food is great. And, if you’re like me, then you get on track and start eating and living right, only to be derailed by a holiday. Thanksgiving is this week, so I thought I’d focus on some ways to stay healthy during this holiday!

How to Have a Healthy Thanksgiving:

The best way to have a healthy Thanksgiving is to start it off right. It’s tempting to sit inside all day since you’re not working, but then you’ll be sitting and eating all day. Consider getting up early and hitting the gym, or take it a step further and sign up for a Thanksgiving Day 5k!

Don’t skip breakfast so that you can eat more during dinner. Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day, no matter what day it is. You’ll end up enjoying the Thanksgiving meal more, because you won’t be ravenous!

While Thanksgiving dinner is delicious, it isn’t healthy. But, that doesn’t have to be true. Consider making raw dishes to enjoy, such as Raw Vegan Pumpkin Pie, or this very simple Raw Cranberry Sauce recipe. You’ll have delicious food you won’t feel guilty about!

leaf-iconStressed? Consider Meditation

Family gatherings can result in some stress. If you’re feeling overwhelmed during the day, consider taking some time for meditation – which has been shown to greatly decrease your levels of stress.

The winter months are notorious for people getting sick. Stay healthy by washing your hands often, eating correctly, getting enough sleep, and taking shilajit – which boosts your immune system! Shilajit is full of fulvic acid, which rebuilds and fortifies your immune system so you stay healthy during the holidays!
